In 1978, James MacGregor Burns wrote, “Leadership is one of the most observed and least understood phenomena on earth.” This statement continues to plague society today, as the realization of leadership rarely rises to its full need.
Scott Turnbow has dedicated his life to understanding leadership and helping people rise to its full need. His life mission is to grow leaders, teaching them how to grow more leaders.
Scott is a native of Tennessee, where he resides with his high school sweetheart (wife) and two handsome sons. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and Auburn University, where he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration, respectively. He is currently working on his Doctorate in Leadership.
Scott actively builds leaders as a general manager in the power generation sector. Turnbow has more than 24 years of experience in leadership roles throughout the power industry. His background is diverse, as he has also served as an independent consultant and inspirational speaker with the Zig Ziglar corporation and the John Maxwell Team.
“The /nside Edge brings a unique opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals that are interested in becoming better people and better leaders.I am looking forward to helping people transform their thinking from being a manager to be being a leader, while building a balance between the application of management and leadership. I will intertwine both theoretical and practical information relative to emotional intelligence, management, follower-ship, and leadership to guide people through the day to day challenges of building a high performance team.”

David Keeler is Senior Vice President of Business Development at IHC Specialty Benefits with 35+ years of industry experience, 10 of them as part of the IPA Family, a member company of the IHC Group, and is a certified black belt in Six Sigma. While attending college at night, Mr. Keeler started selling insurance straight out of high school and within a decade took a pivotal role in establishing Cornerstone Marketing, which was bringing in $400 million per year in annualized sales at the time he retired in 2004.
That retirement would be short-lived. His good friend, renowned salesman and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar, would soon invite Mr. Keeler to join him at his organization as his Executive Vice President of Business Development, as well as, sharing the stage with him as a certified speaker and trainer serving individuals and companies across North America Mr. Ziglar’s mentorship prepared Mr. Keeler to help transform IPA Family from a small, privately owned company to a fully owned subsidiary of The IHC Group.
Mr. Keeler values authentic interpersonal connections and views trust and respect as the basis for successful partnerships. Due to his path through the industry, he understands the impact decisions have for those on the frontline and strives to conduct business with this in mind. In his current role with IHC Specialty Benefits, Mr. Keeler continues to seek and form business partnerships that will help all companies involved flourish and better serve consumers.
I joined the /nside Edge team because I have a genuine passion to be a strong source of significance and helping others go and grow from where they are today to where they want to be tomorrow.
Jeff Goldblatt finds stories. He tells them straight from the heart. And he makes people care, creating storylines as a 3-time Emmy Award winner with 25 years of on-air, TV news experience, and as the Managing Member of a strategic communications LLC he launched in 2016, Jeff’s Journeys.
Jeff gives a new and dynamic edge to Zig Ziglar International as our Director of Operations by using video and social media to tell the stories of clients to grow engagement and ensure loyalty to brand. This is an exciting addition for ZZI considering the myriad adventures taken by Jeff as a journalist.
Jeff was one of the most travelled correspondents during his 9 years with the Fox News Channel from 1999-2008. He took stories and used them to build trust, deepen understanding and nurture relationships, whether it be in the Midwest or in war zones in the Middle East.
The stories he most remembers often came from his willingness to fly right into danger just when everyone else was flying out. Hurricane Katrina. Afghanistan. Iraq. The 2001 Anthrax Attacks.
The DC Sniper Shootings. He learned if you don’t take risks, you miss the stories that matter most–like how people struggled to clean up New Orleans, or New York City rising from the ashes with resilience after 9/11, or how violence rocked the Middle East as missiles flew overhead in Israel, all of which he saw and reported first hand.
Jeff has consulted Fortune 500 C-suite executives in the health care and aerospace/defense industries on public speaking, stronger communication and presentation and conversation strategy. ZZI intends to tap into Jeff’s wide range of skills and his expertise as a communicator and a story teller to help clients diversify and grow their scope of business. There are two things he loves about the stories he has told over the years: they often give a voice to the voiceless and every once in awhile, one of these stories has made a real difference.
Whether it be Madison Avenue or Madison, Wisconsin, Edwin Britt has criss crossed the country as the top performer for every sales organization he has represented during a highly decorated career. He has made sales presentations to a virtual Who’s Who of America’s leading brands including Coca Cola, Miller Brewing, The Walt Disney Company, Tommy Hilfiger and NAPA Auto Parts. He has represented product lines for Michael Jordan, NASCAR and the National Football League, appeared on national TV on QVC and HSN, and trained C-Suite executives at Fortune 500 firms.
As the President of Sales of Zig Ziglar International, Edwin returns to the roots of a brand which transformed his career three decades ago, when he heard Zig Ziglar for the first time. 30 years later, Edwin may be one of the most loyal and recognized students of Mr. Zig Ziglar.
Edwin credits Mr. Ziglar with creating a critical path of clearance in his life which took Edwin on a journey for a higher calling. The year was 2002, and Edwin travelled to Charlotte, North Carolina to hear Mr. Ziglar during Mr. Ziglar’s “Get Motivated” series. At that event, Edwin heard Mr. Ziglar tell the audience that “significance” -as opposed to “financial success”- represented the pinnacle of life.
Edwin was so moved by Mr. Ziglar’s words, that he pulled over on his drive home that night, and with tears streaming down his face, scribbled a “Self-Help Card” on an index card for his oldest daughter, Savannah. That night he put the card under her pillow. “I, Savannah, was born to win,” Edwin wrote for his daughter. “God and my family love me. I was fearfully and wonderfully made. I am special, valuable and always respectful. Today, I will do my best with an attitude of gratitude.” Edwin considers those 36 words, which were influenced by Mr. Ziglar, to be one of the most enduring and influential statements of his life.
Years later, Edwin actually got the opportunity to personally tell Mr. Ziglar the story about the creation of his “Self-Help Card,” and Mr. Ziglar subsequently recognized Edwin at a “Born to Win” event in Dallas, Texas as a “young man” who taught him an important, life lesson.
These days, when he is not with the ZZI team sharing Mr. Ziglar’s renowned T.R.U.S.T. Process in a “Sell By Design”course, Edwin can be found in the front of the room as one of the most sought after speakers of the Ziglar organization. Edwin has been a premier motivational and sales speaker since 2004, using his 30 years of selling expertise as a foundation to pass along lessons about living significantly. Edwin is a dedicated family man, who lives in Coastal North Carolina with his wife of 23 years. He is the proud father of 3 daughters, all of whom still carry his “Self-Help Card.”
